Who do I contact if I am interested in joining either the NASS or the UKSS?

How do I decide which Society to join?
The Societies are divided along geographic lines with the UKSSS open to members from the UK and Europe and the NASS open to members from North America and RoW.
Is there a student rate?
Yes, as registered student you are entitled to a reduced membership fee of $18/£12. You must provide a copy of a valid student ID. This reduced rate is also available to adjunct faculty, please contact your society for further details.
Is there a mailing list or list-serv I can sign up for?

How do I receive the journal?
Membership to the NASS and UKSSS is tied to a yearly subscription to the journal Sartre Studies International. When you become a member of either the NASS or the UKSSS, you will automatically receive the journal for each year of membership. Any issues that have already been published will be sent to you right away; upcoming issues will be sent as soon as they are available.
How do I renew my membership?
Once you become a member, Berghahn Books will automatically renew you each following year, at the beginning of the calendar year. At that time, you will receive a renewal notice for that calendar year, which should be returned along with payment to your nearest Berghahn Books office:

How do I publish an article in SSI? Do I have to be a member?
You do not have to be a member to publish in SSI although you are encouraged to consider joining. The editors to the journal welcome all submissions for consideration.

How can I find out about or attend an upcoming conference? Do I have to be a member?
Conferences are open to all those who are interested in attending or submitting a paper. Members are entitled to a reduced registration fee, but you do not have to be a member to attend or present a paper.
